Herceptin® is a targeted breast cancer therapy currently approved and subsised for us in Australia in the treatment of patients with advanced breast cancer who are HER-2 positive.  'HER-2 positive' means these patients have a particular protein called 'HER-2' on their cancer cells.  The role of Herceptin® in early breast cancer is currently being reviewed.
